Benefits inFORMation privacy policy 

At Benefits inFORMation we collect and use your personal information to help you make an appointment with our service. We only ask for the information that we need in order to help you further with your issues.

When you talk to us, we will always let you decide what you are comfortable with and put you in control. Everything you tell us is completely confidential. 

When we record anything - we will only access it when we have a good reason, only share what is necessary and relevant and we will not sell your information to anyone.

If we have to share or use your information for example for safeguarding purposes we will only do so where there is a legal basis to do so.  This may include exchanging information to protect our rights, our safety or for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk protection.

Everything we do is in line with the law - including the General Data Protection and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Occasionally we may ask for you to give us authority to act on your behalf for example supporting you to make a claim to Universal Credit or acting as a representative in a DWP appeal. 

If you engage with us then we may keep certain records on file securely and we are data controllers for this. We are registered with the ICO to enable us to do this.


If you have any questions about how your information is going to be used, please contact us. You can also contact us to find out what personal information we hold about you. Correct any information that might be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Ask us to limit what we do with your information, stop using your information or provide you with a copy of the data we hold.
